ITALIAN ANCESTORS
Our ancestors came from Pomigliano d'Arco. We know this because of the vital records (birth, marriage, death) found online at Italy, Napoli, Pomigliano d'Arco, Civil Registration, 1809-1929. In fact, thanks need
to go to Napoleon for starting Civil Registration in 1809, to FamilySearch for collaboration with the
National Archives of Italy, and to our ancestors for never leaving Pomigliano d’Arco until they came to the United States. Without access to FamilySearch's records, it would have been almost impossible to identify our ancestors. For more information on the Italian digitization initiative, see FamilySearch Unites with Italian Archive.

- The chart shows Frances Coppola as the starting point. Of course, it could be any of the siblings. To see Pedigree Charts for all Coppola siblings, click on the "Pedigree Charts" tab at the top of this page.
- The “color-coded” chart shows the Italian birth, marriage, and death records that have been found.
- The chart includes six-generations and, given translation problems, the specific dates shown are accurate.
- The sixth generation, #32-63, does not include birth, marriage, and death details. Some facts exist but there’s not enough space on the printed page for them.
- The Pedigree Chart was created using Family Tree Maker with genealogical data from Ancestry.com.
- Download PDF file your computer (~34 MB)
- The number & name at the top of a page relates to the number & name on the Pedigree Chart.
- At the top of the page are the type of record (e.g., Death) and the Year of that event.
- At the left is the specific vital record image. The JPG was copied from the original site, cropped, and enhanced.
- The text box at the right, with red type, is an “attempt” at translation of key information. These translations need a bunch of work.
- At the bottom is FamilySearch’s Source information.
- At the bottom is a link that goes directly to the specific image on FamilySearch’s Pomigliano d’Arco website.
