MARRIAGE CERTIFICATES 1936-1946
Found at Douglas Town Hall
On November 19, 2019, I went to the Douglas Town Hall to find original birth, marriage, and death records. Unfortunately, I was told many records had been lost when the Town Hall basement flooded years earlier. That was disappointing.
However, we got lucky since the Town Clerk said they had original Marriage Certificates starting in the early 1930s:
Note --- other Coppolas were married outside of Douglas, MA during these years: Sully in 1938 in Baltimore, MD; Joseph in 1939 in Swatow, China; and Frankie in 1943 in Washington, DC. See Coppola Family Marriage Records.
These Coppola marriages span the years just before WWII and throughout the war. Can you even imagine?
However, we got lucky since the Town Clerk said they had original Marriage Certificates starting in the early 1930s:
- Coppola Marriage Certificates were found for: Annie, Carmella, Frances, Henry, and Tony (see below).
- A Marriage Certificate was found for Nancy Vecchione (below).
