PASSENGER LISTS
These were the immigration years when the Coppolas and Sodanos came from Pomigliano d'Arco and began to build their families in East Douglas and throughout Massachusetts. The timeline shown at the right, with PDF version below, provides a graphic look at these years.

He had never before been to the United States. Salvatore was going to join his uncle, Giuseppe Terracciano, 10 Moon St, Boston.
- Salvatore Vecchione is son of Felice Vecchione and Maria Carmela Filomena Pirozzi. Felice's sister, Mariantonia, married Giuseppe Terracciano in Pomigliano d'Arco on September 12, 1856.
- Salvatore's other uncle is Natale Vecchione, who arrived in America on January 12, 1897 (see above).
- Salvatore will return to Italy and marry Maria Saviano in Pomigliano d'Arco on October 19, 1901. Salvatore and Maria left Italy and arrived in America on December 3, 1901 (see details below). They settled in East Douglas and lived at 13 A. St, next door to Frank and Antonetta Coppola. The Salvatore and Maria Vecchione gravesite at St. Denis Cemetery is very close to the gravesite of Frank and Antonetta Coppola.

- Nancy Vecchione is the daughter of Nunzio Vecchione and Santina Sodano.
- Beth Vecchione is Nunzio's grand-daughter. Her father is Carmen Vecchione, who married Dorothy Crothers.

Maria Carmela, Filomena, and Felice were deported and sent back to Italy aboard the S.S. Madonna on October 16th. The record shows that, while in detainment, Maria Carmela was served the following meals: 6 breakfast, 6 dinner, 6 supper.
- On arrival on Oct 10, Filomena Vecchione and Felice Vecchione were detained and hospitalized (note "Hospital" stamped on the Passenger List). Also, note "Deported" stamped on the Passenger List.
